The Red Thread

An Ancient Chinese proverb says An invisible red thread connects those destined to meet, despite the time, the place, and despite the circumstances. The thread can be tightened or tangle, but will never be broken.

My Equines

The other day, I started missing my horses. Terribly. While they aren't my horses anymore (either having to sell or give them away - and some have passed) they are still mine in my heart...

Daisy and me at our last show together... She was my first horse, a 14.2hh Welsh Cob mare. She was sold when people decided that she was dangerous - I have fallen off her about 22 times, most of the 22 times having been violently bucked off. (The people being my then-instructor - brittish - who got thrown about 3 times, and my dad.) Only I understood what was really going on inside of Daisy.

Gizmo and I at the T.H.S. Derby 2008. My brother's first horse, our 2nd. 13.1hh Arab/Welsh. She was the most wonderful pony! We had to sell her recently, very unfortunately. I miss her so much.

H.D. (Haley Dove) and me, practising for our first and last show together. Also one of the last times I saw her... 2010. She was my 2nd, and our 3rd horse and had been abuse before I got her at the age of 5 - she was 5, not me. I gave her to Charmaine Gebers - for sad reasons - (in the picture she belongs to Charmaine already) who took her to Natal without a word of it to me. (the horse in the BIG picture on my front page is H.D. too)

Jazzmin. Later on, we didn't get along very well. And she just was never a very friendly horse - not to me or the other horses. There was something missing... She was our 4th horse, my 3rd. She now runs around with Jannie's herd and has healed.

My Prince Michael. My gosh, I was in love with this horse. He was my 4th/our 5th horse and he was a gentleman. I witnessed his passing...

My last day with Zena. I sold her. :'( We were pushed too fast. I didn't have time - matric. 2010. She was only turning 5.

And THIS is little Jun. She was a day or two young when the picture was taken in Feb. 2010. She is Gizmo's filly and is almost a year old now! She is very sweet, unlike many of the cheeky foals you get. Gizmo, her mom, is Arab/Welsh. Her dad is half Friesian, and half Saddler/Boerperd. Quite a mix, but she has lovely conformation and movement and will be a bit bigger than her mom's 13.1hh! :)

Sigh...I am now looking for a good guitar teacher and vocal instructor. Maybe I'll have weekly riding lessons so that I can be close to horses again. IF there is time, that is. In my gap year, I have to work, do yoga... Hmm, just take things as they come. Whatever needs to happen, will happen. Almost 19 and making adventures!
